Blue and Pink Dry Marble nails

Hey lovelies

I just realised it is about time I share my birthday nails with you (given that we are now a week past the special date). I was very lucky this year and got to celebrate my birthday over several days with some very special people. On the Saturday before my birthday, 9 of my closest friends and I went for a meal at a steak house called Middletons. We ate fantastic food and indulged in a bottle or three of Prosecco. We then moved to a wine bar where we might have got through another three bottles and I might have downed a Limoncello shot! I decided to wear a very bold blue dress so of course my nails needed to be a little something special...

The fabric of my dress is the background in all pictures

This look is no exception but I missed my blog so much that I am going ahead and posting it anyways...

Green and Tribal Nails

Good evening lovelies

Did you all enjoy your weekends? I had the pleasure of a four day weekend to spend quality time with Mr LiPP for our wedding anniversary. We were so lucky with the weather (although it got a little too hot for hubby and the puppies), it meant we could BBQ, dog walk, sit outside and of course enjoy the odd beer garden in the evenings.

Pink with Zebra Accent

Good morning lovelies

What do you all have planned for this super sunny Sunday? The weather is just amazing at the moment and I love it even more that it means I can get some great natural light nail pictures! These pics are so much better than anything I can take inside in my light box.

Today I am showing you one of four recent limited edition polishes from the Barry M range. I got this one free from Superdrug when I purchased a couple of the new Gelly's.

Happy St. Georges Day

Good evening lovelies

Can you believe what happened to me and little sis yesterday... We set off on our much anticipated sister trip to Birmingham to see the one and only Pink live in concert and then... she cancelled!! When we heard the news we had already checked into our hotel for the night and already treated ourselves to a glass or two of Pinot so neither of us could drive. Of course we made the most of the night by eating and drinking ouselves merry but still we were (and still are) gutted... :(.

Anyway my NOTD is to celebrate St George's Day... The legend goes that St George slayed the dragon to save the locals from sacrificing their children. With that in mind of course I reached for appropriately named polishes...

What better way to put this manicure together than using two of the gorgeous greens from the Legends collection by a-England. I started with the aptly named Saint George on my index finger. Regular readers will know this is one of my all time fav's - the most perfect teal green holo polish ever!

On my middle finger I painted two thin coats of Matt White by Barry M. Then using red striping tape I made a neat cross to represent the flag of England which of course is St George's cross.

Finally on my ring and index fingers I painted two perfect coats of Dragon by a-England. Dragon has the same stunning formula as Saint George and could easily be a one coater.

To represent dragon scales I used Barry M Gold Foil and a pattern from Gals plate GA 14.

I hope you like my patriotic nails? I had originally planned to post the manicure I designed for the Pink concert and also include a few pics of me and the little sis having an amazing time :-(. Oh well at least we have the re-scheduled gig to look forward to and maybe I will still post the Pink nails later this week.

Mirrorball: Hot Stuff

Good evening lovelies

I am finally catching up on swatching some beautiful polishes that I have had for a little while. Tonight I am going to show you another 'frosting' from the Models Own Mirrorball collection. There are 5 gorgeous glitter toppers in this set, I have shown you three so far Disco InfernoBoogie Nights and Dancing Queen so tonight I am showing you Hot Stuff.

This one was my favourite of the collection in the bottle but now its on the nail I am not as sure. What do you think?

As you can see Hot Stuff contains a real mixture of glitters and is quite top heavy on 'large shards' of glitter which look chunky but do sit flat on nail. This polish is a mix of pinks and golds with a slight holo twist.

As with the other shades from this collection I layered Hot stuff over both black and white so you could really see the difference. This one definitely looks best over black in my opinion.

Some of the larger but paler glitters look lost over the white base so the overall effect is quite subtle compared to how it looks layered over black.

Lookin' for some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
Gotta have some hot stuff

Overall I am really pleased to have these glitter frostings in my collection - the bottles look beautiful on my shelf :-)

I Heart Pomegranate

Good evening my lovelies. How are you all? Did you have a fantastic weekend?

As I mentioned in my previous posts I was in London this weekend with my sister and two of our besties - Samantha and Amanda. We were celebrating Samanthas birthday and had a fantastic time. We stayed in an amazing hotel, went to see Wicked at the Apollo theatre, went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and had a meal and drinks in Canary Wharf. We were very busy and had a fantastic time :-). We missed Jamie, the fifth member of our girly group, but she stayed home for a very good reason... Jamie gave birth to the very adorable baby Mason on 29th December so understandably stayed home to enjoy being mummy.

These are the nails I painted when we got back from London, they represent how much I loved our weekend, how much I love and missed Mr LiPP and pups and how happy we all are for Jamie and her family on the arrival of little Mason

I used this gorgeous polish a few days ago as the dotted centres in my Fussy Flowers post and just knew that I had to feature it as the main polish for my next post. Barry M Pomegranate is part of the Gelly Hi-Shine range and is the most gorgeous rich and creamy dark pink in my whole collection.

As you can see I painted my index and little fingers using Barry M Matt White as a base and I painted my middle and ring finger using Barry M Pomegranate. Pomegranate applied like a dream and could be a one coater with careful application.

For the stamping these pretty little hearts I used the reverse colours - Pomegranate and Konad White and the heart pattern from Cheeky plate CH 3.

Finally I stuck one little heart shaped rhinestone on my ring finger. You can't really see it on these pictures but I like to know its there :-).

This is a quick snap of us girls toasting Samanthas birthday with a little Bucks Fizz :-)

And finally here is the beautiful reason that Jamie could not come to London with us... meet Mason

Thanks for reading lovelies

Christmas Nails: Santa Hats

Good afternoon lovelies!

Have you all had great weekends so far? I most certainly have. Hubby and I had a very successful shopping trip yesterday and I got several pretty new dresses to wear throughtout the festive period :-). We also put up our Christmas trees (yes I do mean we have more than one!) but I am going to tell you more about that next week as I have a plan to paint my nails to match our new tree :-).

For todays little installment I went for fun and cute...

I started with one quick coat of Barry M Silver Foil. My camera freaked out a little because of my choice of metallic background so if I did these again I would go for something more matte.

I then painted red triangles using Barry M Bright Red. It looked lovely on its own but as this is a Christmas manicure I just knew I had to add glitter!

Using this gorgeous Barry M Red Glitter I then painted over the red triangles - just look at that sparkle!

I dotted the top of each hat with one blob of Barry M Matt White using my largest dotting tool.

Finally using a medium dotting tool I added a row of white dots along the base of the hat and then filled in any gaps along my nail tip with a small paint brush.

Voila! Quick and easy nail art :-)

I am now off for my girly Christmas meal - cant wait !

Christmas Nails: Candy Canes

Can I get a whoop whoop!! :-)

I just love Fridays. What could be better than knowing you have a whole weekend of spending quality time with your loved ones? This weekend I have lots of lovely things planned... hubby is taking me for breakfast and a spot of retail therapy tomorrow, then we are going to put up our Christmas tree and enjoy a quiet night in. On Sunday I am with my sister and some of our best friends for a Christmas meal and a few drinkies. I cant wait to catch up on all the girly gossip.

As you can see I made a return to the Christmas Nails already... tonights installment is Candy Canes...

I started with a base of Barry M Matt White. I have to say with the benefit of hindsight I might have chosen to do this manicure the other way around and start with a base of red and then stamp in white... maybe one for next week?

I have been very keen to use Konad Red in one of my Christmas manicures so this simple little Candy Cane idea was the perfect excuse. It was a little messy and did leave a pinky stain to my fingers but I still love it and will definitely use it again (carefully).

I am so glad I purchased this Christmas stamping plate for the bargain price of £1.85! It has proved most useful in my series of Christmas Nails!

Of course this manicure would not be complete without glitter of some kind. I added a hologram top coat of Northern Lights Silver which as with previous manicures did not photograph as magically as it looks in real life.

How do you like my Candy Canes? Are they good enought to eat? :-)

I hope you all have fantastic weekends - have you got lots of lovely plans?

Christmas Nails: Snowman

Happy Saturday lovelies!

Hope you are all having fantastic weekends? I most certainly am :-).

Last night we wrapped all of our Christmas presents and drunk a whole 1L bottle of Orange Truffle flavour Baileys! Yummy. Today has been nice and relaxing, spending time at home with the doggies. Tomorrow my sister and I are off to the Clothes Show in Birmingham. I cannot wait and I will tell you all about it next week :-).

Anyone sick of my Christmas Nails yet...?

I started this manicure with two gorgeous coat of Barry M Indigo. It is the perfect shade of blurple and has high shine jelly like finish to it.

For my little snowman I used Barry M Matt White and a small nail art brush. Using a dotting tool I then added his eyes, nose and buttons.

My new Christmas stamping plate arrived today so I just had to try it out on my thumb...

Finally using more Barry M Matt White and a small dotting tool I added 'snow' to all my nails.

How do you like my wintery manicure? Have you started Christmas themed nail art yet?

Children In Need 2012 - Nail Art

Happy Friday loves :-)

Tonight is the Children in Need 2012 telethon featuring none other than the famous mascot Pudsey the Bear. Since 1980 Children in Need has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. You can read much more and make a donation by visiting here.

Pudsey Bear was of course my inspiration for todays nails...

For the eye patch nail I started with Barry M Matt White and for the Pudsey nails I used a base of NYC Lexington Yellow.

To add the nose, eye and ear features I used W7 Black and a dotting tool

I hope you like my Pudsey nails. Enjoy the telethon tonight :-)

Mirrorball - Boogie Nights

I have something lovely and sparkly for you tonight ladies... another of the stunning polishes from the Models Own Mirrorball collection.

This one is called Boogie Nights...

Just look at how it sparkles :-). I never pick purple as a favourite colour but I adore this polish from the Mirrorball collection. Its purple, its lilac, its blue and its pink... its stunning!

Boogie nights
Come on now got to get it started
Dance with the boogie get down

I layered two coats of Boogie Nights over W7 Black and Barry M Matt White so you can see just how amazing this is as the glide on 'nail frosting' Models Own intended.

'Cause boogie nights are always
The best in town
Got to keep on dancing

I love love love this collection. So far I have shown you two of these pretties... I still have three to go :-)
