Purple Chequers

Good afternoon lovelies!

How has your weekend been? Mine was lovely, I got to spend lots of time with my hubby which is always amazing and I had a wonderful lunch and spa afternoon with my little sister on Saturday :-).

The only negative over our weekend is that our dog Tuscan has been poorly with a stomach infection so we have spent time at the Vets and he is now on several different treatments to hopefully make him much better. Our youngest dog Lily has been very protective over him and done her best to make big bro forget his pain and carry on play fighting with her :-)

Onto my nail of the weekend...

I started this manicure with three coats of Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Prickly Pear. This is the only polish from the Gelly collection so far that has needed a third coat for full opacity which is a little disappointing however the colour is really pretty and I was pleased with the final look.

I added a quick coat of Northern Lights Silver Hologram to add a little sparkle but also to aid the drying time of the three coats so I could get on with the stamping.

Then using the very eye catching Barry M Vivid Purple I stamped this very effective chequered flag pattern from Cheeky plate CH 3. I had been saving this for a black and white manicure but as I was looking through my stamping plates tonight I just couldn't resist :-)

How do you like this look? I think lilac and purple look really good together and I love this chequered flag style design.

Valentines Nails: Pink, Coral and Gold

Good evening lovelies!

Time for another Valentine's installment :-).This one I really liked and meant I got to use two very pretty colours from my current untrieds stash. I really love combining shades of pink and orange together so this manicure was a win win for me!

I started by painting my full nail with two coats of Rimmel In Style Coral. This pretty summery colour is one of my favourite shades of Coral and a complete bargain to me as I got it from good old Poundland :-)

Then using Rimmel Be A Star I painted just half of each nail. This is a very pretty pink and I love how these two colours work together. Also having this line running down the length of my nail made my nails look longer.

Flash on

I added one quick coat of Northern Lights Gold Hologram top coat - to aid drying time and also add a nice little sparkle.

Finally using Barry M Gold Foil I stamped a line of hearts up each nail using part of this full heart design which is perfect for Valentines.

I hope you like this finished design? Have you been busy planning something special for Valentine's Day?

Mr LiPP and I are going to celebrate on Friday night so we can chill out and not worry about work the next day :-)

I Heart Pomegranate

Good evening my lovelies. How are you all? Did you have a fantastic weekend?

As I mentioned in my previous posts I was in London this weekend with my sister and two of our besties - Samantha and Amanda. We were celebrating Samanthas birthday and had a fantastic time. We stayed in an amazing hotel, went to see Wicked at the Apollo theatre, went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and had a meal and drinks in Canary Wharf. We were very busy and had a fantastic time :-). We missed Jamie, the fifth member of our girly group, but she stayed home for a very good reason... Jamie gave birth to the very adorable baby Mason on 29th December so understandably stayed home to enjoy being mummy.

These are the nails I painted when we got back from London, they represent how much I loved our weekend, how much I love and missed Mr LiPP and pups and how happy we all are for Jamie and her family on the arrival of little Mason

I used this gorgeous polish a few days ago as the dotted centres in my Fussy Flowers post and just knew that I had to feature it as the main polish for my next post. Barry M Pomegranate is part of the Gelly Hi-Shine range and is the most gorgeous rich and creamy dark pink in my whole collection.

As you can see I painted my index and little fingers using Barry M Matt White as a base and I painted my middle and ring finger using Barry M Pomegranate. Pomegranate applied like a dream and could be a one coater with careful application.

For the stamping these pretty little hearts I used the reverse colours - Pomegranate and Konad White and the heart pattern from Cheeky plate CH 3.

Finally I stuck one little heart shaped rhinestone on my ring finger. You can't really see it on these pictures but I like to know its there :-).

This is a quick snap of us girls toasting Samanthas birthday with a little Bucks Fizz :-)

And finally here is the beautiful reason that Jamie could not come to London with us... meet Mason

Thanks for reading lovelies
