Tribal Nails: Inspired By my Tribal Skirt

Hey loves

Tonight I am finally showing you my tribal nails inspired by one of my favourite skirts. I wore these a few weekends ago for a big team night out with work and I was really pleased with how the colours and design complimented my outfit. As you can see from the pictures I used my skirt as the background :).

Green and Tribal Nails

Good evening lovelies

Did you all enjoy your weekends? I had the pleasure of a four day weekend to spend quality time with Mr LiPP for our wedding anniversary. We were so lucky with the weather (although it got a little too hot for hubby and the puppies), it meant we could BBQ, dog walk, sit outside and of course enjoy the odd beer garden in the evenings.

Purple nails with Paisley

Good evening lovelies

I almost didn't want to cover this fantastic colour up with my nail art but after an hour or two I decided to use one of my all time favourite stamp designs in a nice complimentary colour.

The base colour is Plum Power by Sally Hansen. I love this colour so much that I dedicated a whole post to it yesterday which really does not happen very often here on LiPP.

Using my most trusty of all stamping polishes - Barry M Silver Foil - I stamped the perfect paisley print from Bundle Monster plate BM 315.

This colour absolutely makes me want to wear purple more than I would usually and what can I say about this stamp other than its paisley perfection.

As I mentioned yesterday today is our 5th Wedding Anniversary so we are off celebrating and spending lots of time together on nice walks and no doubt eating good food :-)

Inspired By: Bird Print Cami Top

Good Friday lovelies

Although I am really into contrasting nail art, every so often I am more than happy to completely co-ordinate my nails and my outfit. There is something cute about 'matchy' nails so when I wore a new bird print cami top this week I just had to design my nails to match (sort of)...

I started with a gorgeous base of Barry M Lychee on all nails. This colour is part of the Gelly range, so it is highly opaque, dries super quick and super glossy. Lychee is a very rich cream coloured nude and the perfect base for lots of nail art styles.

Using the small flying bird design from plate BM 315 I then stamped each nail several times, in several colours at several angles! The bottle shot above is Beths Blue by Models Own which stamped very well but very lightly. It looks almost lilac in these pictures.

Some of the other colours I used are Konad Psyche Pink (bottle above), Konad Red, Sally Hansen Grass Slippers and H&M Blue My Mind.

Below is a close up of my top so you can see the pretty bird print for yourselves :-).

How do you like this matchy nail art? Do you prefer to wear nails that contrast and really stand out or would you co-ordinate your outfit of the day to your nails of the day?

Have fantastic weekends

Blue Paisley Nails

Good evening lovelies

Happy Sunday! I hope you have had a fantastic weekend? Ours has been busy but fun. We went out for good food (as always!), spent time with friends, enjoyed several long dog walks and still managed to relax in front of the tv :-). Unfortunately it is almost Monday again but this is my last full five day week for the next month so I cant complain really...

Onto one of my favourite manicures in a while...

For this beautiful blue manicure I started with two coats of Sky's the Limit by Barielle. It is a sapphire blue with lots of pretty blue metallic shimmers. I loved how this looked as it was drying and I was almost tempted to leave it alone, but...

Using Barry M Silver Foil I stamped this paisley design from plate BM 315. This is one of my all time favourite prints and I love this colour combo to bits!

I topped the whole thing off one coat of Northern Lights Hologram top coat in Silver. Quick drying and super sparkly... whats not to love? :-)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday's my lovelies

Paisley so Pretty

Just got time to squeeze in a quick and unplanned post. I have only had this gorgeous and punchy orange for a week but couldnt wait any longer to try it out! I got this polish in a free promotional gift from the Boots 17 range as I spent over £6 on their products. The gift set also contained a full size black eyeliner and another item that totally escapes my memory. Of course I was ONLY interested in the nail polish.

The colour is called Tropical Island and does not appear to be part of the current range available to purchase in Boots. The colour is lovely and bright and contains a beautiful gold shimmer that is hard to capture on camera but only adds to the beauty in real life.

In the pictures I used 2 thin coats but still had a slight visible nail line so would wear 3 thin coats for solid coverage. The stamping for this design was done using Konad White Special nail polish and plate BM 315 from the new 2012 collection. The detail on this pretty paisley stamp is very intricate and transfers to the nail very crisply.

Whats not to love? Eye catching, summery (unlike the weather!) and so pretty. I got lots of lovely comments about these nails at work today. I cannot rave about the 2012 bundle plates enough. I love so many of the designs that I cannot imagine ever being stuck for a nail idea!

Thank you for reading, feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comment facility below.
