Dry Marble: Beautiful Barry M's

Happy Friday!

I have been looking forward to showing you these nails. I 'created' them last weekend after I spent some time working on a nail wheel which can be seen on my nails only instagram account @L_i_P_P

It brought my nail mojo back and what could be more fun than a brightly coloured dry marble...

Coral Base with Pink Hearts

Good evening lovelies

Can you believe it is Wednesday already? I love it when time flies and it gets ever closer to the weekend :-). As always I have lots to look forward too. On Friday night we will meet up with a group of friends to plan our skiing holiday to Bulgaria. We are going in February for my brother-in-laws 30th birthday and I really cannot wait. Lots to talk about and plan as I have only ever been on sunshine holidays before.

Here is my how I wore the swatch of Gilded Coral I showed you yesterday...

Fairy Teal and Pretty Pink

Good evening lovelies

Tuesday already! Please excuse the paper cuts you can see in this mani, but it was too pretty for me not to share it but I had obviously had a clumsy day at work!

Polka Dots and Bows: Peach nails

Happy Friday lovelies

I have decided that this weekend calls for some bright and fun nail art. As I was looking through my ever growing pile of new polishes to swatch I was drawn to this pretty peach from Avon. Although it is quite a pale pastel shade I knew it would make a great base for some eye popping art.

Leopard Print nails: Summer colours

Good evening lovelies

Just a quick post tonight as I am rushing in the door from a sales conference and then back out again for a team night out at a local comedy club.

I loved the idea of these nails as I planned the colours in my head but I didnt like them once I was finished...

Yellow and Pink Roses

Happy Friday lovelies!

How is your weekend looking? I am excited about Saturday night in particular as us girlies are going out for a meal to a steak restaurant where the food is served on hot rocks, meaning the steak cooks as you eat it! I have heard fantastic things about the restaurant so am really looking forward to trying it out for myself!

In the meantime here is my nail of the day...

I started with a base of Barry M Lemon Icecream on all nails. For such a pale colour it has a really great formula and I only needed two coats.

Using Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate I then stamped one of my most favourite designs, the large roses, onto each nail. This design can be found on plate BM 323 and I honestly use it all the time for both nail art and jewellery design.

Speaking of jewellery, I could not resist making a nail polish ring to match this beautifully bright manicure. For the ring I added just one coat of Color Club Daisy Does It as the glass cabochon really brings out the beautiful yellow and gold shimmer.

Also as I fell totally in love with the yellow and pink colour combination I also make a ring featuring my new and already much used owl stamp from the new Pueen plates.

A slightly unusal combination but I love it so much :-). Last time I wore pink and yellow together my sister in law said it reminded her of my favourite retro sweets, Fruit Salads!

I hope you liked seeing my new pieces of nail polish jewellery.

Have fantastic weekends

Pomegranate Filigree Nails

Good evening lovelies

Did you have a lovely weekend? We certainly did. Had such a lovely family day with my sister in law and niece on Saturday. On Sunday I was in the city and could not resist picking up all 5 of the new Barry M Gelly's and I cant wait to show some nail art using them as the colours are bold and fabulous. We did break out the BBQ as planned but the weather was disappointing and we had to eat inside :-(.

Onto my nail of the weekend...

I started with just one coat of Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate. This is an all time favourite of mine and I love that I could get away with just one coat as I only had 20 minutes to do my nails before we started our road trip to Clacton. Pomegranate dries super quick and super glossy.

Then using Konad White and Konad Black on alternative nails I stamped using this really eye catching filigree pattern from plate Pueen 26.

I was incredibly lucky to receive the gorgeous Love Lace Pueen plates from Carolina of Colores de Carol fame. Carolina read a comment I left pining after these beautiful new plates and offered to post them to me from the States. Of course I jumped at her very kind offer and just three weeks later I had the full beautiful collection arrive as the best Nail Mail ever. Carolina also gifted me one of the beautiful new colours from her very own Summer Collection which I will swatch for you very soon.

How do you like my alternative stamping? Would you prefer to see all one colour?

Thanks for reading

Hearts and Love for Pomegranate Pink Nails

Good evening lovelies

Whoop Whoop! FRIDAY!!

You know me... I LOVE the weekends! Fridays at home with Mr LiPP and the pups is my favourite night of the week :-). On Saturday we are going into the city for some shopping and hubby is taking me to lunch at our new favourite restaurant. In the afternoon I am doing gel nails for one of my besties and then it will be time to relax! On Sunday we are going to a local craft fair. My Mum has a stall of handmade bags and will also be featuring a small amount of my very own nail polish jewellery... I hope something sells :-).

I started with a base colour of Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate. You will have seem this gorgeous raspberry pink on my blog several times before, each time I wear it I love it and this time is no different.

Using Barry M Silver Foil I stamped this heart outline from Cheeky plate CH 15 and this newspaper style print of romantic words from plate BM 311.

I LOVE how this turned out :-)

I hope you all have fantastic weekends... let me know of any plans in the usual comment facility :-)

Yummy Strawberries

Good evening lovelies

Yo Sushi was of course amazing last night :-). If you have not been you must go at your next opportunity. Tonight I am eating out again... elasticated waistband anyone? I am meeting some girlfriends at my sisters, Jamie is cooking for us and I am supplying the dessert. We do this mini version of come dine with me every three weeks on a Tuesday night as it gives us a good chance to catch up on any gossip and to relax whilst eating good food :-)

My quick little nail of the day look is...

I started with a base of Barry M Gelly Pomegranate. There is no need for me to tell you how much I LOVE this colour as I have used it lots and raved about it every time :-). Its rich and gorgeous and applied carefully could be a one coater (I used two thin coats for these pictures).

Then using Konad White I stamped this cute little strawberry design from Cheeky plate CH 42

For my thumb and accent nail I used the same plate to add 'Yummy' to my nails :-)

I love how this turned out. It was quick and easy to do but still eye catching enough for me to spend a great deal of time staring at my nails :-)

Valentines Nails: Grapefruit and White

Good evening lovelies

How can I resist adding in another Valentine's manicure when it looks as adorable as this? I love coming up with nail art when I have a theme to stick to! All things romantic, heart shaped and love related are top of my list right now and I LOVE it!

I started with two super easy coats of Barry M Gelly in Grapefruit. I forgot how much I love to wear this as a base colour and I cannot stop looking at this colour in the office today! Too distracting :-)

I stamped using several different plates, the first being the mini grafetti hearts found on Cheeky plate CH15. I haven't used this design before and after I stamped it I did think it was a little fussy and hard to see the actual hearts but I like it none the less.

For my ring finger accent I stamped this adorable I Love You symbol from BM02. I don't use the original bundle monster plates all that much as the full nail designs are too small even for my short nails however they do have some great accent designs.

Lastly I stamped this little puckered lip design from the same plate (BM02), one in Konad White and one in Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate.

The final touch was a quick slick of fast drying top coat Hologram in Silver. If you don't own this little beauty from the Northern Lights brand I highly recommend you treat yourself. I use it loads!

I really hope you are enjoying my romantically themed nails as much as I am :-)

Keep checking back for the next installment

Valentines Nails: Pomegranate and White

Good evening lovelies

I thought I would start early on my Valentine's nail art this year. To be fair it is less than two weeks away and I have so many beautiful colours and stamps I could use for love themed manicures that I could actually fill a whole month of blog posts with them! Dont worry I wont and I will try to limit myself to just 4 or 5 :-)

This manicure actually turned out much better than I had hoped and I was a little upset when I finally had to take it off. I hope you like it...

As you can see in the below picture I started with two lovely coats of Barry M Gelly Pomegranate and topped it off with one thin coat of Hologram Silver by Northern Lights.

Then using Konad White I stamped these two different heart themed patterns onto my nails. One a full coverage pattern and one a cute and perfect accent nail.

With flash so you can see the holo...

I am really pleased with how this turned out and think it has set the bar high for the rest of my Valentines manicures :-)

Take care

Lovely Jubbly: My first Butter London

Good evening lovelies!

How has the start to your week been? I have been off today on holiday so I only have a four day working week to get through before its the weekend again already :-). I have been on a really exciting course today which I cannot wait to tell you more about over the next few weeks.

Time for some serious sparkles... This gorgeous polish was a Christmas present from Mr LiPP and the doggies.

Lovely Jubbly is a gorgeous mix of fuschia pink, deep indigo blue, shimmery light red with the added touch of gold glitter particles.

This is quite a densely packed glitter but I decided to layer it over two different base colours to see if it made any difference and also to prevent the need for a third coat of this quite expensive polish.

My index and ring fingers have a base coat of Barry M Navy (as seen above) and my middle and little fingers have a base coat of the simply gorgeous Barry M Gelly Pomegranate (as seen below).

I absolutely love this and it sparkled away all day under the harsh lights in my office :-)

Do you have any of the Butter London polishes? I think I will be adding a few more to my wishlist after seeing the quality of this one.

Fishnets and Flowers!

Good evening lovelies!

Tonight I would like to show you this cute little manicure which originally started as me experimenting with colours but ended up being a combination I really like.

I started with two coats of NYC Lavendar Cupcake. Its a really good polish considering how reasonably priced it is. The colour is quite a pale shade of lilac which I much prefer and actually makes a really good base for bright nail art.

I then decided to try stamping with my gorgeous Barry M Gelly Pomegranate. This range of polishes are advertised as one coaters which usually means they will be perfect for stamping - I was right...

First I stamped the criss cross fishnet style design from Cheeky plate CH 11, then I decided to add a little more detail so reached for this pretty trio of flowers from Konad plate M57,

Do you think it looks a little like lace nails?

I am really pleased with the finished design and am toying with the idea of setting myself a mini challenge... how many different designs could I come up with in one week, all incorporating the trio of lilies? What do you think?
