Just time for a quick swatch post tonight. This very pretty duochrome polish has been in my untrieds since last December. I had a Ciate advent calendar so each day I got the best surprise of a new mini bottle of nail polish. Better than a chocolate ANY day!

Ever since I received this beautiful colour in the Pink Nail Mail Box from the lovely Vicky over at The Polish List I have been dying to use it. I love colours like this that are just so beautiful there is no need for fancy nail art or stamping so I decided to keep things very simple.

Tonight I am going to show you two pretty textured polishes from the Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection. These are textured polishes however OPI calls them Liquid Sands. I got these little mini bottles in a Sallys sale a while back.

All day I have been excited about having tea at Yo Sushi with my sister. We just love the Blue Monday promotion they do and quite literally spend all day counting down the hours and talk about the new dishes we are going to try. Tonight we had friend tuna with dressed salad, california rolls and vegetable gyoza as well as all our usual favourites and two lots of spicy pepper squid!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend? The weather was fantastic here in the UK so we dusted off the BBQ for the first time in 2014 and enjoyed peppered steak, salmon soaked in garlic butter and vegetable kebabs. Yummy!

Textured Blue and Silver: Simple Birthday nails

After my quite extravagant nails from yesterday's post I thought I would share with you the much calmer and simple nails I wore on the day of my birthday (a week ago today). For my birthday this year, my little Sis took me to Yo Sushi for tea on the eve of my birthday. We had a cheeky Prosecco and treated ourselves to the beef and chilli dish from the yellow menu that we had been craving for a while (as well as 9 dishes from the Blue Monday menu). Then on the morning of my birthday Laus arrived with the biggest stash of presents you have ever seen and whisked me off for breakfast and a full day of shopping. I was one happy birthday girl.

I just realised it is about time I share my birthday nails with you (given that we are now a week past the special date). I was very lucky this year and got to celebrate my birthday over several days with some very special people. On the Saturday before my birthday, 9 of my closest friends and I went for a meal at a steak house called Middletons. We ate fantastic food and indulged in a bottle or three of Prosecco. We then moved to a wine bar where we might have got through another three bottles and I might have downed a Limoncello shot! I decided to wear a very bold blue dress so of course my nails needed to be a little something special...

I hope you are all well? Today is my birthday and I have had an amazing day. My little sister spoiled me rotten from morning til night. So many presents to open this morning and then a full day of eating, shopping, drinking and more eating! These are not the nails I wore for today as I'm a little behind with blogging but the colours are the same so close enough :-)

TGI Friday! Time to relax and enjoy time with loved ones. I dont have too much planned yet however tomorrow afternoon I am hosting a nail party for 8 very excited 9 year olds so wish me luck :-).

Another busy evening ahead for me. Tonight I have two gel nail clients both looking for Christmas designs which will be lots of fun for me to do. After that I am hoping to colour my hair ready for the final pre-Christmas week and maybe fit in a quick change of nail polish too :-)

Tuesday already!

My least favourite day of the week however tonight is our departmental Christmas meal so at least I have something to look forward to. I am very lucky as I work with my little sister who just so happens to be my best friend and also several of my really good friends. All of this means that when we are forced out on team nights at least I am amongst people I want to be with :-)

I am so looking forward to this weekend... Yes I know I always say that but that's because I always am. I love spending quality time with loved ones and this weekend will be no exception. I hope you all had fantastic weekends? I had an evening with my sister on Saturday, we ate olives, drank wine and watched Vampire Diaries on DVD. I have seen the whole series before but I am loving the chance to watch it again from scratch with my little sis. On Sunday I had a whole day and evening with Mr LiPP. We had a lazy morning, then went in the city for a touch of shopping before an evening on the sofa with several films and some yummy chocolate.

I most certainly am... its been another tough week for me but actually really productive and therefore I am feeling that I have achieved a lot and I am proud of how I have turned things around. Tonight I am having a very relaxed evening with Mr LiPP, Saturday we have a day of house related chores and Sunday we are out for lunch with a couple of friends we have not seen for a while.
