Dry Marble: Beautiful Barry M's

Happy Friday!

I have been looking forward to showing you these nails. I 'created' them last weekend after I spent some time working on a nail wheel which can be seen on my nails only instagram account @L_i_P_P

It brought my nail mojo back and what could be more fun than a brightly coloured dry marble...

Beautifully Bright with Flowers and Glitter

Its time for fun Friday nails :-)

I am so excited about this weekend. Tomorrow us ladies are off to Newmarket Races for the day. We will place some small bets, enjoy the friendly competition, have a few drinks and enjoy being dressed up in our finery :-). Then in the evening we are staying to watch James Arthur live in concert before getting the train home. On Sunday we are going to Cooper's 1st birthday party and then spending some real quality time with Dad who has been through the mill a bit recently and needs some TLC.

Subtle Stamping: Peach and Gold

Happy Hump Day

I hope you are all having a good week so far? Tonight Mr LiPP is off to the cinema so I am looking forward to a pampering session. I have a fantastic bright cherry pink colour to put on my hair, a face mask from Turkish barbar to (hopefully) work wonders on my skin and a peppermint exfoliating scrub for my hands and feet. Now I just need someone to pour my wine and feed me grapes :-)

Filigree Nails with Bling Accent

Happy Monday lovelies

How are you all doing? I am pleased to be on the road to recovery, I just need to shift this pesky cough and I will be fully fit just in time for our holiday! Yes thats right, Mr and Mrs LiPP as well as 10 friends will be off to Bansko Bulgaria on Saturday and we cannot wait! Dont get me wrong, personally I'm not one for hours spent in the cold attempting to balance on skis but I am most certainly one for group holidays with friends and loved ones. Days spent chilled out in the hot tub or shopping and enjoying a glass or two of bubbly. Evenings spent with all of us eating together, leisurely walks to the pub and plenty of drinking games!

Here are my nails of the day...

Christmas Nails: Christmas Wreath

Happy Christmas Eve!

I am so excited. Honestly cannot remember the last time I was looking forward to Christmas as much as I am this year. I have already had some fantastic meals out with friends, been to family parties and exchanged beautiful gifts but still have so much more planned. Today I have to work but only until 1pm and then Mr LiPP and the puppies are coming to pick me up and we are off on a Festive Dog Walk with my little sis and her dogs and my mum and her dogs. Chaotic but Fun!

What could be more festive than gold sparkle, red sparkle and Christmas wreaths?!

Christmas Nails: Christmas Trees

Happy Saturday loves!

I am still under the weather but determind to not let it stop me from any of my exciting Christmas plans. Last night I went out for a Christmas meal with a group of girl friends and we exchanged Secret Santa gifts. I was a very lucky girl and got two goody bags full of lovely gifts such as owl salt and pepper shakers, 6 handmade owl wine charms, an owl necklace (can you spot the theme!) and five lovely colour OPI crackle polishes to use for jewellery making. Thank you Jamie :-)

On the night I wore a very sparkly deep red dress that was covered in sequins, Here are the nails I designed to compliment...

Christmas Nails: Rudolph

Oh yes you read the caption correctly... I finally started my Christmas Nails!!

This beautiful red just lends itself so nicely to Christmas Nail Art and what could be cuter than a Rudolph accent nail?

Which do you like best... Shiny or Matte?

Pink, Green and Gold nails

Good evening lovelies

Tonight I am showing you a manicure I designed to co-ordinate with a new dress and bag I wore over the weekend. Any regular followers will know that I am a sucker for any combination of pink and green so when I wore my brightest of bright green new dress for a night out I just knew I would reach for my favourite bright pink clutch :-)

Green and Gold Nails

Whoop whoop!

Friday at about this time is always cause for celebration... its the weekend! No more work, no more stress and no more recruitment drama. It will not long until I have a nice cold glass of Pinot in my hands and I will be sitting down to enjoy a nicely cooked meal (always better when someone else is cooking!) and as many episodes as I can handle of my favourite DVD boxset.

Onto my nails of the day (and possibly the weekend as I love them)...

Tonight I am going to show you how different this manicure looked once I added some simple top coat! You may have noticed that I am loving my Barry M Textured Effect polishes recently and this little pretty is certainly no exception!

Flames and Glitter

Whoop whoop its the weekend!

These are my party nails :). I am actually not going out to any parties but I just felt like I needed a nice bright jazzy manicure for this weekend. I am looking forward to having a lie in, going shopping for the last bit of my Dads birthday present and also eating out at our favourite steak restaurant on Sunday. I am giving myself the weekend off from housework and chores... ;-)

Nails: Skulls and Roses

Good evening lovelies

I hope you are all doing well? I had such an amazing weekend with my family and friends celebrating my sisters birthday. We had a garden party hosted by my dad on Friday, a full English breakfast by the river on Saturday and then a lovely meal with 8 of our best friends on the Saturday night. Samantha and I even built our own balloon tower while we were decorating the room ready for the meal - Impressed! :-)

Navy, Gold and Orange: Same Accent Nail

Good evening lovelies

Time for a quick manicure change... apart from the accent nail. As mentioned in yesterdays post, I loved this orange studded accent nail so much that I vowed to leave it in place for the rest of the week. see how many looks I can come up with before it chips or the studs come off.. :-)

Fated Prince Skittlette nails

Happy Friday lovelies!

Mr LiPP and I (mostly Mr LiPP) are hosting a BBQ tonight for a few of his friends from work. Just a small gathering but we are really looking forward to relaxing after a long week at work with some good friends and some good food.

As I mentioned in my swatch post from yesterday I could hardly bring myself to cover over this beautiful polish, Fated Prince by a-England,  with nail art so I opted for a simple skittlette style :-)

Spice It Up: Sparkly Brown Nails

Good evening lovelies

Just a quick and surprising post from me tonight. Surprising because it features the colour... Brown!

I am not sure why I have such a dislike for brown nail polish. I don't dislike it when I see it on others but the thought of painting it onto my own nails leaves me a little cold. That said I picked up this sparkly little number recently so decided it was only fair to give it my best effort.

Here are my nails of the day...

As you can see I started with two very easy coats of Revlon Spice It Up. In all honesty I would not have purchased this colour however I spotted it in Poundland and decided I really had nothing to lose (other than a pound coin - obviously!).

Spice It Up really surprised me. Just look at the rich colour and gorgeous golden particles that really shimmer and bring this to life.

To highlight the golden shimmers I used Barry M Gold Foil to add this simple leaf print to each nail. The design is taken from the first bundle monster collection, plate number BM 03.

I really liked this so much more than I thought. Maybe if it wasnt such an amazingly bright day I would not have seen so many shimmers and I would not have liked it so much, but lucky for Spice It Up the sun shone bright! Have you tried any colours recently that surprised you? Do you have a colour you avoid at all costs? :-)

Coral, Gold and Butterflies: All in One manicure

Good evening lovelies

This lovely manicure was worn for three days a few weeks back which is unheard of for me ;-). But honestly what's not to love... coral, gold and butterflies all in one!

I started with two coats of In Theory by Color Club. It's a beautiful coral with an orange tone, it was slightly streaky and would need three thin coats if you wanted to wear it alone.

Using Konad White I stamped the thin zebra style stripes from plate BM 223 onto all nails. I really liked how this looked but decided I couldn't quite leave it there...

Finally with Barry M Gold Foil I stamped the small butterflies from Konad plate M57 onto each nail.

The overall look was subtle as the gold didnt quite 'pop' against the white as I thought it would in my head... however, I loved the end result which explains why I wore this look for three whole days!

Good evening everyone :-)

Happy St. Georges Day

Good evening lovelies

Can you believe what happened to me and little sis yesterday... We set off on our much anticipated sister trip to Birmingham to see the one and only Pink live in concert and then... she cancelled!! When we heard the news we had already checked into our hotel for the night and already treated ourselves to a glass or two of Pinot so neither of us could drive. Of course we made the most of the night by eating and drinking ouselves merry but still we were (and still are) gutted... :(.

Anyway my NOTD is to celebrate St George's Day... The legend goes that St George slayed the dragon to save the locals from sacrificing their children. With that in mind of course I reached for appropriately named polishes...

What better way to put this manicure together than using two of the gorgeous greens from the Legends collection by a-England. I started with the aptly named Saint George on my index finger. Regular readers will know this is one of my all time fav's - the most perfect teal green holo polish ever!

On my middle finger I painted two thin coats of Matt White by Barry M. Then using red striping tape I made a neat cross to represent the flag of England which of course is St George's cross.

Finally on my ring and index fingers I painted two perfect coats of Dragon by a-England. Dragon has the same stunning formula as Saint George and could easily be a one coater.

To represent dragon scales I used Barry M Gold Foil and a pattern from Gals plate GA 14.

I hope you like my patriotic nails? I had originally planned to post the manicure I designed for the Pink concert and also include a few pics of me and the little sis having an amazing time :-(. Oh well at least we have the re-scheduled gig to look forward to and maybe I will still post the Pink nails later this week.

Easter Purple Nails

Happy Day Before Easter lovelies!

Hope you all had a lovely first few days of the Easter break? Today I went into the city with my sister so we could get new outfits for our night out tomorrow. After an hour or so of not finding anything suitable we gave up and headed to the pub for an all day breakfast and a glass of wine. Yes you read that right... we ordered a nice glass of Pinot with our fry up and it was only 11.38am! Naughty but nice... well we are on holiday! :-).

Tonight I thought I would show you a super quick Easter inspired manicure I did featuring the perfect shade of Cadbury's purple with a gold accent...

I started with two coats of Barry M Vivid Purple on each nail. It really is a stunning shade of purple and as usual for Barry M the formula is great to work with.

On top of Vivid Purple I layered just one coat of the much coveted Max Factor Fantasy Fire. It is lovely to look at but terrible to take pictures of :-(. The above picture has the flash off and the below picture has the flash on so you can see just how multi toned the glitters are.

Finally I stamped just my ring finger with the rabbit in an Easter egg design taken from plate BM 302 using Barry M Gold Foil (of course!)

Quick and simple but definitely reminds me of the Cadbury's purple and definitely puts me in the mind for chocolate :-)

Take care
