Matte or Glossy: Put A Bow On It
Happy Thursday loves
I decided to add my new favourite Matte top coat to an ultra glittery polish and was so pleased with the results that I am going to dedicate a whole post to it! The polish is China Glaze Put a Bow On It, a seriously blingy purple glitter packed beauty!

Fugly Green with Abstract Dots
Good evening loves
Tonight I am showing you what I would call a marmite polish. You will either love it or hate it. I paired it with my abstract dotted nails from a few weeks ago to try and break the haters in gently :))

Abstract Dots with Barry M Mattes
Happy Wednesday!
I feel like I am on a real roll with Matte polishes at the moment. I absolutely love this Barry M collection and am keen to see which colours they will add to it for the Autumn Winter. In the meantime I will carry on using the beautiful neutrals and brights from the current range.

Good evening lovelies
Today is a Bank Holiday here in the UK and as is to be expected... it rained all day! Literally non stop. Great excuse for an impromptu duvet day though :). Here is a quick but pretty pink swatch for your viewing pleasure.

Rainbow Sprinkles: Barry M Matte
Hey lovelies
So I will admit that these ended up being a bit of a nail fail but as I like the idea and the colours I am still going to share the pictures with you. Not my best work but I will let you decide...

Wonderous Star: Which finish?
Happy Hump day!
My goodness time flies... So busy at work each day and then so much fun stuff to cram into each evening. I feel like my feet don't touch the floor at the moment but that's fine by me :-).
Time for a quick vote... do you like this beautifully unusual polish with a glossy finish or a matte finish?
I know this polish is a little love or hate for most people but I have to say that I love it and am really glad to have it in my collection. It's certainly a unique polish and I like it both glossy and matte.

This beautiful red just lends itself so nicely to Christmas Nail Art and what could be cuter than a Rudolph accent nail?
Which do you like best... Shiny or Matte?

Happy Friday loves!
I've got an exciting weekend ahead. Little Sis and I are off to the Clothes Show Live first thing tomorrow morning and we cannot wait. We have talked of nothing else for months (literally) and we have been saving our hard earned pennies so we can have a real splurge when we get there :-).
Beautiful swatch for you today...
Do you like this stunning polish as it comes (above) or with shiny top coat (below) ?

Textured and Matte: Countess and Caramel
Good evening lovelies
Middle of the week already! Where does time go? I wont lie... I am exhausted already! I recently recruited 10 new staff into my Norwich based office and just keeping up with them all is enough to tire anyone out, not to mention one 'gentleman' left after a day so I need to go through the recruitment process again! Grrrr!!
Oh well at least I have lovely nails to make me feel better :-)

Ruffian nails
Good evening lovelies
Tonight I decided to try something a little different. I have seen lots of these manicures on the many nail blogs I follow and decided it was finally time for me to experiment with the ruffian technique.
I wanted to use my matte top coat so I reached for my only true matte nail polish - Orly Iron Butterfly. It looked really pretty in real life but my camera hated taking shots with a matte finish so I dont have many pictures for you today :-(
For this look I started with a base coat of Barry M Teal, which is a frost finish green polish. I am not a fan of the frost finish so was glad to cover most of this polish up with a ruffian style manicure.
I used Orly Iron Butterfly to create the ruffian look. This polish dries to a total matte finish but the last time I used it for a manicure I had to add my usual glossy top coat to prevent it chipping so much. This time I added one coat of Essie Matte About Me and stepped back to admire.
So that I could take some better pictures of this matte mani I added a layer of glossy top coat and ended up much preferring the way it looked. Iron Butterfly looks like polished granite with the glossy top coat and my camera loved it again!
It just goes to show that my original idea of keeping things matte was certainly not the best idea for tonights manicure.
See you again soon

Iron Butterfly & Gems
I am so excited... my Orly Iron Butterfly arrived today from the States. I have only been waiting for about 10 days but still I was very pleased when it arrived this morning. Iron Butterfly is part of the Metal Chic collection and is a stunning matte charcoal grey.
I havent seen this shade available for sale in the UK so although I had to purchase from the States it was still only £7 including postage. Totally worth every penny.
This polish dries uber quick so I built up the coverage with three very thin layers and it dried to a perfect metallic matte grey. It reminded me of suede - almost like it would be soft to the touch! The polish contains lots of silver shimmer which became even more obvious once I added a layer of top coat.
My accent nail is Models Own Utopia which is a pretty pale pinky grey and I could not resist adding these beautiful little square pink gems to create a different dynamic to my usual stamping patterns.
I am really pleased with this look and I hope you enjoy the pictures. I would definately purchase more of these matte type nail polishes in the future. In fact there are two other gorgeous colours in this Metal Chic collection that will find there way into my online shopping basket at some point later in the night.
