Order of the Garter with Accents

Good evening lovelies

I hope you all had fantastic weekends? I had an evening with my sister on Saturday, we ate olives, drank wine and watched Vampire Diaries on DVD. I have seen the whole series before but I am loving the chance to watch it again from scratch with my little sis. On Sunday I had a whole day and evening with Mr LiPP. We had a lazy morning, then went in the city for a touch of shopping before an evening on the sofa with several films and some yummy chocolate.

I love Blue and Copper nails

Good evening lovelies

I dont know if I can find the words to tell you how much I love these colours together. I feel like I never want to take this polish off and I will certainly be using these colours together in lots more manicures over the coming weeks :-)

Gingerbread Men nail art

Good evening lovelies

Happy Saturday everyone :-). Hope you have all had a good day? I have no idea where time disappeared to... I haven't achieved a great deal today but have still had a really nice day. My first package from Fragrance Direct arrived with four Sally Hansen polishes included. As the sun was still dancing around in the sky I decided I had to use this gorgeous shimmery copper...

This is Shiny Penny by Sally Hansen. It is a copper orange polish with a really pretty bronze glass shimmer running through. I used two coats and loved the finished look. It dried quickly to an almost streak free finish and looked beautiful in the late afternoon sunshine.

Here is a swatch of Shiny Penny...

Using Konad Black I decided to stamp these fun little gingerbread men all over my nails... Gingerbread men for ginger nails :-).

The design is taken from Gals plate GA 41.

Simple yet effective and cute!

What plans do you have for the rest of the weekend? It's a special one for me as my birthday is fast approaching and I have a few days off work :-). Cant wait!

Taped Chevron nail art

Good evening lovelies

Time for some nail art that does not involve stamping... I know unusual for me, right?

This didn't turn out quite as I had in mind... I think mostly that is because of the colours I chose. The finished look really reminded me of the colours and designs that you would see on a cheerleaders school uniform! Do you know what I mean... or am I a little crazy off the nail polish fumes tonight :-)

I started with two coats of Orly Glow on all nails except my ring finger. Glow is a very pale nude creme which if I was wearing it alone would need a third coat just to even it out but as I was covering more than half of each nail I stopped at two. At this point I added a layer of Seche Vite and went off to make a cuppa as you really need plenty of drying time before you start laying the tape strips down.

I taped off half off each Glow based nail with a pre cut chevron strip I purchased on eBay. I then painted the visible part of my nail with Orly Flicker. A stunning copper polish that I unexpectedly adored last time I wore it. At this point I added another slick of Seche Vite and sat with hubby to catch up on TV...

Finally I taped my nails off again using fresh chevron strips, this time covering a V shaped section of Flicker. Then using Illamasqua Boosh (black) I painted the tip on each nail as well as my full ring finger.

Here is a small tutorial I put together for Instagram... I cannot make it bigger as the picture quality is too low but I hope you can get the idea :-)

Finally I added three small square rhinestones to the accent nail and covered the whole lot in one more coat of Seche Vite.

This was a labour of love caused by the necessary drying time in between each colour layer but I like the end result and will definitely use these pre cut strips again. You could of course free hand the chevron shape if you have a steady enough hand (I do not).

Hope you enjoyed this post lovelies?

Orly Perfect Pairs: 4: Copper

Good evening lovelies!

Time for another Orly Perfect Pair. This one is a beauty! I wasn't expecting to like this polish let alone love it but I am so glad I was proven wrong.

This is Flicker and Watch It Glitter... this polish was just begging to be shot outside in the winter sun :-)

Just look at the below stunning swatch of Orly Flicker... I will pause whilst you make oooh and aaah noises!

Flicker is a gorgeous metallic copper shimmery polish. In the below pictures you can see two perfect thin coats with no top coat.

On my other hand is Orly Watch It Glitter. A really pretty rose gold glitter topper that I must add to my collection in the future. I think this would look stunning over navy or a deep teal.

Here we have the Perfect Pairs still as individuals...

Once combined these two polishes really brought out the best in each other. Copper, Rose and Gold... a metallic feast :-)

Here are a couple of the pictures I took for Hayleys promotional campaign...

I adore these white lilies. Mr LiPP buys them for me :-). The flowers are massive once they are fully in bloom and last for a good 10 days, our house smells fantastic right now.

Do you like this finished look? Do you own any of the Orly Fired Up or Glam FX collections? So far I have found all of them to be gorgeous.

Blue and Bronze recreation

TGI Friday lovelies! Whoop whoop!

Tonight I decided to recreate one of my most favourite manicures from last year but using darker colours. The manicure I am referring to is of course the picture I use as my blogger and twitter profile - the coral and white cream slice creation!

I love how this Konad pattern is so easy to stamp but looks like such a detailed marble manicure...

I started with two gorgeous coats of Barry M Navy. One of my absolute favourites and the first polish I purchased a back up bottle of (just in case!).

For the stamping I decided not to turn to my traditional Barry M Foils but to instead try out this little bottle of Bronze foil by Primark. I was so pleased when it turned out to be perfect for stamping so you are bound to see it more in the future :-).

So what do you think of my wintery darker version of my favourite manicure from last year?

Here is a little reminder of my summer version... LOVE!

I am loving both versions but the coral version has a special place in my heart :-)

What plans do you have this weekend? Lots of fun stuff I hope?!
