Neons on Nude

Happy Wednesday

More than half way through the week already! Ive been working on some custom pieces of nail polish jewellery this week. A friend of mine is going to a wedding on Saturday and has treated herself to a pretty pastel dress especially for the big day. I am making a ring to match and also doing her gel nails on Friday night. The ring is taking a while as the drying time in between sponged layers of pastel polish is quite long but it will be totally worth it.

Time for another manicure inspired by the sunny weather we have enjoyed in the past week...

For my base I started with Almond from Barry M. Its actually a little darker than I wanted but I was already committed to using it so I just carried on regardless.  For the neons I reached for the fabulous Poptastic collection from Color Club. I picked these up last year and used them a lot both as base colours and for a little nail art so I was pleased to see they also work for stamping.

For the filigree print I reached for one of my most used stamping plates - Pueen 26.

Yellow - Almost Famous
Blue - Chelsea Blue
Orange - Wham! Pow!
Pink - Warhol
Green - Twiggie

I love how the neons look over the nude base. Just the perfect mix of summery and bright but without being too full on for work.

How do you like the neon and nude combo? For those of you not so into neon nails does this pretty stamped version make them more wearable to you?

  1. This looks GORGEOUS! I really love the nude to neon combo, it is so pretty. Vibrant but not too much! you *HAVE* to show us the ring your making, if it matches these nails its going to be beautiful :) I like brights but I think its is a brilliant way to tone them down into something less dramatic :) xx
