Fishnets and Flowers!

Good evening lovelies!

Tonight I would like to show you this cute little manicure which originally started as me experimenting with colours but ended up being a combination I really like.

I started with two coats of NYC Lavendar Cupcake. Its a really good polish considering how reasonably priced it is. The colour is quite a pale shade of lilac which I much prefer and actually makes a really good base for bright nail art.

I then decided to try stamping with my gorgeous Barry M Gelly Pomegranate. This range of polishes are advertised as one coaters which usually means they will be perfect for stamping - I was right...

First I stamped the criss cross fishnet style design from Cheeky plate CH 11, then I decided to add a little more detail so reached for this pretty trio of flowers from Konad plate M57,

Do you think it looks a little like lace nails?

I am really pleased with the finished design and am toying with the idea of setting myself a mini challenge... how many different designs could I come up with in one week, all incorporating the trio of lilies? What do you think?

Hologram Zebra

Happy Saturday lovelies!

Are you having a lovely weekend so far? I had a lovely evening at my sisters with our girlfriends last night. Good food, lots of laughs and of course nail polish...! Our friend Hayley is now working in the beauty industry and asked me to swatch the entire Orly Flash Glam FX collection on sample wheels. What a hardship that was... hee hee :-). Also as a reward for being such a good swatcher I got to keep Orly Go Deeper which I cannot wait to show you later in the week (thanks H).

Onto my NOTD...

How gorgeous is this? I started with two easy coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri Uptempo Plum. I got this deep and shimmery plum in Poundland of all places! Bargain?! As with all the other Insta Dri polishes I own, this could easily be a one coater and I am sure it will be fantastic to stamp with.

For this gorgeous hologram zebra print I stamped using Layla Hologram Mercury Twilight and the pattern found on Konad M57 (the most popular stamping plate).

I had no idea this hologram polish would be so perfect to stamp with. I love it!

The below picture is a swatch of Uptempo Plum with the forced flash on my camera. It allows you to really see the pink glitter shine through the deep plum base.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekends. Tomorrow I will be posting my first Twin Post and I am very excited about it so please don't forget to check back :-)

New OPI with Animal Print

Its arrived... OPI Skull and Glossbones :-).

Frustratingly I have to order OPI polishes from the States in order to get them for a reasonable price. OPI is a UK brand, which just makes it even more frustrating, but I have found an online US seller who can deliver to me within a week, not to mention at £5 per bottle cheaper. I really can't complain about that!

This manicure is three coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones, with two coats of Color Club Ulterior Motive for my accent nails. Skull & Glossbones is part of the Pirates of the Caribbean collection from OPI and is a really pale grey beige creme. This will be a beautiful base for lots of future artwork.

Ulterior Motive from the Keep It Undercover collection is a fantastic jelly style polish which sits somewhere between pink and purple. It is packed with purple and blue micro glitters and sparkles fantastically in almost any light. I love the formula of this polish :-).

I stamped the leopard design over Skull and Glossbones using my W7 Black and Konad plate M57. For the added sparkle factor I then dotted the centres of the leopard print with more of the fantastic Ulterior Motive.

I am really pleased I finally have this OPI polish in my collection. I am totally in love with at least six of the new OPI Germany collection polishes so I will be placing a new order to the US seller in the not too distant future!

Pretty Little Animal

I mentioned in one of my previous blogs that I was going to use more animal print designs in my nail art and today is one of the days to follow through with that promise. I love this leopard print design, it looks brilliant with any colour you can think of and is so easy to do. Its eye catching and always attracts compliments :-).

For the base colour I used Barry M Blueberry Icecream. This polish has an amazing formula. It is almost a one coater, it dries quickly and evenly and  looks great with any skin tone. It has to be one of my favourites and whenever I'm in a blue mood I can guarantee I will reach for this polish.

I stamped this pretty leopard print design using Konad White and two different images taken from Konad M57. This look was so easy to create but certainly one of my favourites.

I hope you enjoyed this walk on the wild side :-)
