Pink nails with Navy and Butterflies: All in One

Good evening lovelies

Did you have a fantastic weekend? I most certainly did :-). I had a lovely day with Mr LiPP on Saturday, we shopped a little, drunk a little and ate a lot. The perfect combination. On Sunday little sis and I travelled to Birmingham for the Beauty UK 2013 show. We shopped until we dropped and really enjoyed the day. For those of you following me on Instagram you may have seen a few pics of my Konad goodies. Without doubt it was my favourite stand of the day.

These are the nails I wore...

I started with a base of the stunning Orly Miss Conduct. Absolutely an all time favourite of mine and as my latest favourite colour combination is raspberry and navy, Miss Conduct was the perfect base for this manicure.

Using Barry M Navy (another all time favourite of mine!) I stamped the zebra style stripes found on plate BM 223. I was tempted to leave it at that but as we were off to an event full of professionals I could not resist adding a little more...

Using Barry M Silver Foil I stamped my favourite butterflies from Konad plate M 78. On each nail I placed the butterflies slightly differently to avoid that uniformed nail wrap look.

Lastly I could not resist adding a quick top coat of Northern Lights Hologram in Silver. I love the holo sparkle in this top coat so much, not to mention its almost as quick drying as my trusty Seche Vite and never smudges my stamped designs :-).

How do you like my NOTD look? I am even more in love with this raspberry pink and navy combo than I was before!

It's Blue Monday so I am off to Yo Sushi with the girls - I hope you all have fantastic evenings

Pretty Pink Bows and Hologram Heart Nails

Good evening lovelies

How has your Monday been? A hard one for me as it was my first day back in more than a week (sob!) so while I had a lot of work to keep me busy, I also had a serious case of the holiday blues.

One thing that will always cheer me up... something pretty on my nails...

I started with Miss Conduct by Orly which is one of my all time favourite polishes. It applies like a dream, looks fantastic in both natural and artificial light and contains so much holographic glitter that I never fail to be impressed. The picture above was taken in bright sunlight (gorgeous!) and the picture below under my desk lamp in the nail room.

On each of the raspberry pink Miss Conduct fingers I stamped this simple but perfectly pretty bow using Konad White and the small image found on plate BM 317.

For my accent nail I used two coats of a-England Ascalon, which is the perfect complimentary holographic grey for this look baring in mind how much I love holo and how much I love pink and grey together :-).

The heart pattern is also taken from plate BM 317, one of my most used plates!

Finally I added a clear rhinestone to the centre of each bow as a finishing touch.

I hope the rest of your week goes well... Do you have any nice plans other than work?

Orly Pink on Pink

Good evening lovelies!

Hope you are all doing well? Tonight I have a gorgeous polish to show you that I have finally ticked off my lemming list :-). I first saw this palest of pinks on other blogs about six months ago, after finally giving up on finding a stockist in the UK I ordered it from the States and I couldn't have been happier when it arrived in only 6 days. Hence this slightly picture heavy post... :-)

This pretty pale pink is Orly Decades of Dysfunction. I will admit now (quickly) that the formula was frustratingly streaky and required three coats (pretend I didn't say that) but the overall finish was lovely and the colour so very subtle.

I decided to pair this up with another favourite pink - Orly Miss Conduct. I used Miss Conduct for my accent nail and also as my stamping polish as I thought it was about time I experimented with something other than Barry M's :-)

This picture is taken with the flash on so you can see the true holo beauty of Miss Conduct...

Such a pretty pale pink...

Finally I topped the whole manicure off with Northern Lights Top Coat in Silver. I have been using this more and more as I find it dries just as quick as Seche Vite, does not cause polish shrinkage and also does not smudge my stamped patterns. Ideal!

One more picture because I just cannot resist

How do you like this palest of pinks? Do you like the contrast of pale and bold together?

Thanks for reading

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year lovelies!

Welcome to my first post of 2013. Did you all have a wonderful New Years Eve? Mr LiPP and I decided to stay in and I am pretty glad we did - many of our neighbours had fireworks displays and our little Lily is terrified of the loud noises. We spent most of the evening making sure she was ok and trying to keep her calm.

I wanted my first manicure of 2013 to feature a special polish so there was no doubt in my mind that I would turn to Orly Miss Conduct.

I started with two coats of Orly Miss Conduct from the Naughty or Nice collection. Miss Conduct is a raspberry pink base packed with sparkly holo shimmers. The formula is amazing and this is easily going to become a firm favourite for me. Check out the beautiful swatches below.

For my finished manicure I swapped my index finger to W7 Black for a little contrast. I then added star shaped rhinestones and tiny silver studs to my index and little fingers as you can see below.

Using Barry M Silver Foil I stamped this pretty star image from Cheeky plate CH 52.

I loved the final results but in all honesty I would have worn Miss Conduct on its own with no stamping or accents and still have been 100% happy :-).

I thought I would also share with you the manicures I painted for Mr LiPP's Mum and Little Sister on New Years Eve...

Check out the matching blingy accent nails :-).

I hope you enjoyed my first post of 2013.

Wishing you all lots of love, luck and happiness
