Good evening lovelies
I hope your week is going well so far? Mine is flying by as I have been busy busy with lots of great things still to come :-). Tonight my mum is coming to the nail room for a gel mani pedi before she jets off to Tunisia on Friday. I am going to do us a spot of tea so that after our nail session we can sit and put the world to rights over a glass of Pinot.
These are the nails I wore to Newmarket Races a few weekends ago...

Grey and Pink nails: I Heart
Good evening lovelies
I hope you are having a lovely weekend? Just a quick post from me tonight showcasing this very simple little mani. It didnt turn out quite as I wanted but I thought I would show you anyway :-).
I started with three thin coats of pale grey from No 7 called Winter Tale. I am a sucker for a pale or dove grey polish and even more so when it only cost £2 with a voucher.
For the hearts and lace design I reached for Barry M Pink Foil, the pattern is from my lovely new Pueen plates - number 27.
Enjoy the rest of your weekends - dont forget the sunscreen tomorrow... its going to be hot hot hot! :-)

Mint Glitter loveliness
Good evening lovelies
Sometimes you just need something simple and cute to adorn your nails. Tonight I settled on exactly that combination.
I hope you enjoy my pretty like a mermaid nails of the day... :-)
For this manicure I started out with two coats of Rimmel Peppermint (a present from my bro in law!). Peppermint is a lovely mint green polish that leans slightly aqua green after two coats. I love it!
I decided to top this pretty green with one coat of No 7 Paradise Love. I believe this colour is quite new to the No 7 collection and I got it during a recent voucher promotion. Whilst surfing the nail blogosphere I noticed that others where saying this is a dupe for Deborah Lippman Mermaids Dream. If that is true then this was a bargain as any of the DL polishes are out of my budget! :-)
I really enjoyed this simple look and used this combination of colours to create a really pretty nail polish ring which I will post up on Instagram soon (follow l_i_p_p).

Nautical Nails
Good evening lovelies
I am super glad that today is over with! I had a four hour training session this morning and then a follow up two hour meeting. Too much being talked at for my liking :-).
On the plus side I have been doing lots of lovely Orly Gel FX nails for friends and family this week, if you would like to see pictures you can follow me on Instagram by clicking the 'follow me' link down the right hand side of my blog :-).
Here are my nautical nails of the day...
I started with two easy coats of No 7 Sing the Blues. I love this colour and often overlook it in favour of my precious Barry M's but I really shouldn't. Sing the Blues sits somewhere between navy and royal blue but has a fantastic shimmer that really shows up on the nail.
On my ring finger I used two coats of NYC Times Square. This polish is a gorgeous shade of tomato red and dries in super quick time.
NYC polishes are such a bargain at only £2.79 a bottle and they are quite often on offer so you end up with two bottles for £2.99. How can you not love a polish that costs just 20p :-).
Using Barry M Gold Foil I stamped these two different nautical themed designs from my latest collection of Cheeky plates. The steering wheels from CH 49 and the anchors from CH 36.
Last but not least I added some horizontal stripes using Konad White. The stripes are actually vertical on the plate but as my nails are short I can flip it around and use them horizontally. I added a row of small gold studs to replicate a Captains uniform.
Nice and nautical!
How do you like these nails? My sister in law Vicky will just love them and now I have a shortcut to getting perfect stripes everytime I will definitely replicate this manicure on her :-)

My Christmas Day Nails and a nod to my Grandad!
Happy Boxing Day my lovelies! Did you all have a fantastic Christmas?
We certainly did. Although I was so poorly for the whole festive period I put my game face on (fix up, look sharp) and carried on regardless. We had a fantastic lunch out on Christmas Day followed by a successful shopping trip to the Next winter sale at 7am this morning, followed by a buffet lunch at my sisters this afternoon. I have been thoroughly spoilt by both friends and family and loved every second!
On Christmas day 10 of our nearest and dearest went for lunch at a local hotel called St Giles. I was wearing a new navy dress and burgandy patterned tights so decided upon this little mani for the occasion...
Nothing too complicated but still quite effective. I started with two coats of Barry M Navy (quite possibly one of my fav's) and I stamped the pretty snowflakes with Barry M Silver Foil.
I thought I would also include a piccy or two of us on Christmas Day so you can see how my nails and outfit match...
My Mum asked me very nicely if I would mind doing her nails to match her new plum dress, how could I refuse and I thought it would be nice to make them sort of match mine...
This is two coats of the super pretty No 7 Damson Dream with the same snowflake design stamped but this time in Barry M Gold Foil.
Imagine my surprise when I saw my Nan and Grandad only to find her nails looking more amazing than ever, when I asked her where she got them done she said... Your Grandad did them! Seriously he is better at nail art than me and I practice every day :-)
Can you believe he applied those wraps himself on Christmas Eve! How cute...??
Speaking of which I just couldn't resist sharing this little picture of our doggies in their Christmas bows...

I hope you enjoyed this rather picture heavy post. I am beyond relieved to not be at work between Christmas and the New Year and really hoping to experiment with all my new nail polishes (seriously my friends and family were too kind)

Christmas Nails: Reindeer
Good evening
I just couldn't resist making a return to my Christmas themed nails already. I wanted something fun so I decided on these cute little reindeers. I was inspired by a picture I found on google that linked back to a site called PolishPedia.
I hope you like them...
I started with just one coat of No 7 Hot to Trot. It is a very pale gold shimmer and a great base for nail art.
Using BYS Raspberry chocolate I painted the reindeer head and ears. This is the only brown in my whole collection and is a new purchase for me so the timing couldn't have been better :-)
Using a black nail art pen I drew on the antlers.
Then finally with two different size dotting tools I added eyes and noses. Of course I had to make one nose glittery red as you can't have reindeers without one of them being Rudolph!
How do you like these cheeky little chappies? Cute?!

Clothes Show Nails and Haul Pics
Good evening lovelies.
We had such a fantastic time at the Clothes Show yesterday. Neither of us can remember why we didnt go last year as we loved every second of it this year and vowed to buy tickets for next year as soon as they go on sale. The event is split out into various different sections with the main ones being: Clothes, Beauty, Make Up and Accessories.
We headed straight to Beauty and I couldn't resist buying my first goody bag of the day from Models Own. After that we were on a roll and purchased so many lovely things... make up, vintage style necklaces, an owl print dres, not to mention the W7 stall which was a huge success for me! Before I realised it I had 15 items in my basket!
These are the nails I wore for the event. Designed to match my outfit of the day... Navy patterned skinnies, burgandy oversize shirt with lace panel along the shoulders and my new grey boots.
I started by painting three nails with two coats of No 7 Damson Dream. A gorgeous polish that is a combination between burgandy and purple. I painted the other two nails with Barry M Navy.
I added one thin coat of Northern Lights top coat in Silver to add some hologram dimension (swatch below) and then I stamped with Barry M Silver Foil. The design is from my new collection of plates by Cheeky - this one is CH33.
Now for just a few sneaky pics of my Clothes Show Haul...
Look at all those lovely W7 glitters and the gorgeous grey and pink Nica handbag... what a lucky girl! :-)

Christmas Nails: Snowflakes
Good evening lovelies!
Tonight I thought I would finally take the plunge and feature some festive nails! I am starting with these pretty snowflake inspired nails. Completely appropriate as we saw our first (very small) flutter of snow right here in Norfolk yesterday :-)
I started with two thin coats of No 7 Sing the Blues. It has a really nice almost metallic edge to the finish.
I then stamped this snowflake design from BM 323 using Konad White. For a little something special I then added a silver holo sequin to the centre of each large snowflake.
Lastly I added a layer of my new hologram top Northern Lights in Silver. It has only just arrived in the post and was perfect for this manicure. I couldn't be happier with it. I also bought it in Gold so I look forward to trying that out soon.
Just look at all that hologram shimmery goodness :-)
This isnt the most original manicure but I love it and my sister has asked me to create a version of this for her Christmas Day manicure.
Hope you enjoyed my first festive manicure. I am sure there will be many more over the next few weeks!

Dotty for the weekend
Happy Friday!
This weekend could not come soon enough for me! I have been counting down since 9.05 on Monday morning! How bad is that?
Sitting at work during the week I was talking to Faye about colours you shouldn't 'like' together. For example I like pink and red but Faye hates it. We talked about blue and orange together, my instinct was to say no but Faye said yes. I thought give it a try...
I decided to keep it nice and simple but I was pleased with the results. I used Barry M Blueberry Icecream and No 7 Tangy for the base colours and the dots.
Very simple, yet very effective :-)
To be honest I like colours that clash. I am struggling to think of a combination I wouldn't wear. How about you, do you have colours that are simply a no no?
Have a fantastic weekend
