Inspired By: Bird Print Cami Top

Good Friday lovelies

Although I am really into contrasting nail art, every so often I am more than happy to completely co-ordinate my nails and my outfit. There is something cute about 'matchy' nails so when I wore a new bird print cami top this week I just had to design my nails to match (sort of)...

I started with a gorgeous base of Barry M Lychee on all nails. This colour is part of the Gelly range, so it is highly opaque, dries super quick and super glossy. Lychee is a very rich cream coloured nude and the perfect base for lots of nail art styles.

Using the small flying bird design from plate BM 315 I then stamped each nail several times, in several colours at several angles! The bottle shot above is Beths Blue by Models Own which stamped very well but very lightly. It looks almost lilac in these pictures.

Some of the other colours I used are Konad Psyche Pink (bottle above), Konad Red, Sally Hansen Grass Slippers and H&M Blue My Mind.

Below is a close up of my top so you can see the pretty bird print for yourselves :-).

Grass Slippers with Graffiti Nail Art

Good evening lovelies

Yesterday I posted a gorgeous swatch post dedicated to Grass Slippers by Sally Hansen. Today I am going to show you how I made it a little more wearable by adding some fun nail art.

These are my graffiti line nails and I love them. I couldn't resist using bold colours for the line work as I really wanted to show that lime green can be a great base for nail art :-).

Using the criss cross lines from plate BM 316 I stamped in one direction using Barielle Berry Blue.

The flipping the plate upside down I stamped again but this time using Konad Special Polish in Psyche Pink.

I am so glad my bold colour choice paid off. I could not stop looking at my graffiti nails!

Did I tell you I also love... Owls?!

Good evening lovelies.

How are you all at this mid week point? I am excited about my post tonight :-).

Whilst in London with the girls last weekend I purchased the most gorgeous scarf from Portobello Market. It is a gorgeous pale grey with bright pink owls printed on it and I just knew as I handed my money over that I would recreate the gorgeous print on my nails. I had been saving this owl stamp for something special so this is it... I hope you like it :-)

As you can see I started with a base of Revlon Hazy. In my opinion this is the perfect pale grey polish and I will definitely need to buy a back up bottle as I use it all the time.

Once the grey was dry I stamped using Konad Psyche Pink with the two different owl designs found on plate BM 309.

Isn't this just adorable? And yes the scarf is as soft and luxurious as it looks :-)

Funky Giraffe

Good evening ladies. I hope you are well?

Tonight I am showing you a quick manicure that I managed to squeeze in just before my sister and I go away on another road trip for work! This time we are in Manchester for a trade show.

I really didnt know if I could make this combination work but I am glad I tried as I love it! Its so eye catching and I got lots of lovely compliments :-)

I started with three coats of the very pretty Barry M Peach Melba. I am sure this colour would feature in my top ten favourite polishes (if I was ever forced to make a list!)

I then stamped this funky giraffe print using Konad Special Polish in Psyche Pink. I was a little disappointed that this looked patchy on my photographs as in real life you could not see through the pink so much. I also thought buying the special stamping polishes by Konad would avoid any issues but not on this occasion.

Still I dont want to complain too much about this Psyche Pink as it is stunning! Who would have thought that it co-ordinates in such a pretty way with Peach?

This giraffe stamp can be found on plate BM 313. I guess it is also a croc effect print...?

Bonus Houndstooth

Since I posted earlier this evening I have been thinking about recreating a more feminie version of the houndstooth stamp design and once an idea is in my head I just cant leave it...

For this pretty version I used Models Own Utopia as my base colour and stamped the houndstooth design from BM 322 using Konad Psyche Pink. Utopia is a really pretty pale pinky grey which when contrasted with this ultra bright pink ends up looking almost bright white.

I am much happier with this colour version of the houndstooth design - what do you think? As always your thoughts and comments are more than welcome.

Minty Madness

Today I would like to share with you NYC Mint Macaroon. I previously mentioned this polish as I got it for 20p as part of an awesome promotion in Superdrug. This gorgoeus minty green is an easy to apply creme that achieves full opacity with two medium coats. Here is a little shot of the minty goodness on its own...

One of my favourite colour combinations is pink and green so I could not resist stamping over the top of this lovely colour with a mani inspired by the Polished Perfectionist. I used pink and silver to achieve these striking stripes. 

You may recognise this stunning pink from my one of my previous posts, its a Konad Special polish called Psyche Pink and I wouldnt be without it in my stash. I couldnt resist adding some subtle silver highlights using Barry M Silver Foil.

The stripes were achieved using plate BM 301. I really like this look and it was so simple to achieve. This is the perfect mani for those times when you only have 5 minutes to dedicate to a quick nail art session.

What's Not to Like?

Today I decided to trial another colour from the Barry M pastel collection - this one is called Lemon Icecream. I will admit now that I have a real dislike for the colour yellow, unless it is in the form of a sunny day, so this was a hard polish for me to want to work with. However work with it I did and this is what I came up with.

In order to make myself love this manicure I decided to add two things close to my heart - bags and shoes! Whats not to love? My nails are the colour of sunshine and not only can I see bags and shoes all day long - but they are stunning pink!


Konad Psyche Pink

This gorgeous pink is from the Konad range of special nail polishes and can only be used for stamping due to the polish being much thicker than a standard nail colour. You can purchase these polishes for around £5 each and I have to say the investment is worth it if you are a serious stamper!

I hope you agree that I have redeemed myself after yesterdays Blue & Silver pictures - it was honestly a great mani I just couldnt reflect it in the pictures. These yellow and pink nails could almost make me change my mind about the colour yellow - maybe its not just for the sun after all!

I have also included a little bottle shot below of the two polishes used to create this pretty mani - let me know if you think I should continue to include bottle shots or you would prefer to see only the finished manicure pictures.
