Pink and Orange: Same Accent Nail

Good evening lovelies

So this was a no brainer for me... orange and pink are the perfect summer combination, in my opinion, and the pink from this NV collection is particularly gorgeous.

Navy, Gold and Orange: Same Accent Nail

Good evening lovelies

Time for a quick manicure change... apart from the accent nail. As mentioned in yesterdays post, I loved this orange studded accent nail so much that I vowed to leave it in place for the rest of the week. see how many looks I can come up with before it chips or the studs come off.. :-)

Turquoise and Orange: Same Accent Nail

Good evening lovelies

Hope you are all doing well? For the rest of this week I have decided to go with a bit of a theme for my nails. I will change my polish each day (as is usual) but I will keep my lovely accent nail just to show how wonderful and versatile it is!

Sunset Coral with White Leaves

Good evening lovelies

Just a quick post from me tonight... I couldn't resist showing you this bright manicure. I am totally in love with this coral orange almost neon shade and it will definitely be one of my top picks in the summer.

Each nail has two coats of NV Sunset as a base. The formula is slightly thin but totally buildable and it dries really quickly. Maybe I should try layering it over a white base...?

I then stamped all nails apart from my ring finger with this pretty print that reminds me of leaves from plate GA 38. Adding the white just made this beautiful colour POP even more :-)

Finally on my ring finger I added one coat of Northern Lights Hologram in Silver and while that was still wet I added in three tiny flat back pearls.

Do you like my sunshine manicure? I am so in the mood for Summer now... :-)

Freehand Animal Accent nails

Good evening lovelies

Happy Monday! I thought it was about time I put my limited freehand skills to the test and finally tried leopard print. In the past I have proudly worn the stamped version of leopard print on my nails but when on a recent nail art course one of the ladies asked if any of us could freehand leopard print we all said no. I then made it a mini mission to teach myself so I could in turn teach my fellow nail art classmates :-).

For this manicure I decided to go for the double accent nail look so I painted two fingers with NV Lagoon (turquoise) and two fingers with Barry M Lychee (nude). Lagoon is a stunning shade of turquoise and was perfection is just two thin coats.

Lychee has already turned into my go-to base colour for many styles of nail art so I am going to treat myself to a back up bottle next time I am in the city.

Using the large end of my Orly dotting tool I added some random blobs of Lagoon onto the two accent nails. I made sure they were not in a uniform pattern and that they were of varying shapes and sizes.

Once the 'blobs' were dry I used black polish and the small end of my Orly dotting tool to add broken up outlines to each spot making each one look more like leopard print. I was careful not to join these black lines up and create full circles around the spots, this look only works if the shapes remain incomplete and a little random looking.

Lastly I filled in any gaps with small dots of black polish, et voila...

How do you like my double accent freehand leopard print? I am so pleased with the outcome and I really enjoyed teaching the others on my class what I had learnt :-). Also I am loving this creamy turquoise shade!

A Hula Halo combination!

Good evening lovelies

I decided that I needed some ultra bright polish in my life... all the snow and horribly cold weather we have had recently has left me craving the summer... or at least a decent spring! What could be better to lift my wintery mood than neon pink :-)

I started by painting all nails except my accent nail with two coats of Hula by NV. Hula is an intense pink that  dries to a real rubberised matte finish. Its a one coater and dries super quick. This will definitely be a summer pedicure favourite of mine!

On my accent finger I painted two coats of the stunning Orly Halo. Halo is an intensely packed gold glitter polish which reflects the light beautifully and looks really cute combined with this pink. Halo is from the 2012 collection Naughty or Nice and is a welcome addition to my stash :-)

Using this bold basket weave style print I stamped each pink nail in Barry M Gold Foil (bottle not shown in this post). The pattern is from plate GA 15.

I am so pleased with how this simple manicure turned out. The basket weave print is ideal for a quick but eye catching look and I will use it next time with a dark base so I can see the contrast. I am thinking navy and silver...

I hope this pink and gold version brought a little sunshine to your day... hee hee :-)

Inspired by...Skittlette

Skittlette... isnt that a fantastic word?

It belongs to the very talented Marta at ChitChatNails who runs one of my most favourite nail blogs and is a very talented, not to mention busy lady. I honestly dont know how she has time to post so many fantastic manicures but I am thankful that she does :-).

Marta quite often posts manicures with a mixture of two or three accent nails and has dubbed this pretty look the Skittlette. Not quite a Skittle mani as that would need all five nails to be different but actaully I think a Skittlette is better as it is easy to tie two or three different accents into one cohesive manicure.

My index and middle fingers are two coats of W7 Black with the addition of some simple small round silver studs from Born Pretty Store.

My ring finger is two sparkly coats of NV Anthem stamped with my favourite butterfly design from plate BM 307 using W7 Black

For my pinky and thumb nails I started with one coat of Barry M Silver Foil and then layered over one coat of the new Barry M Ruby Glitter. This is unique in my current collection as it is the only glitter polish I have with black glitter particles in it. I'm pleased with how it looks in this mani but in all truth it looks better in the bottle.

So how do you like my Skittlette post? I think this is a great look and will mean I get through a fair few of my untrieds and still create a beautiful manicure that is worth wearing and sharing with you.

Blue Nails Dainty Flowers

Todays theme... simple but pretty.

I had 30 mins to do my nails before I needed to leave and meet my sister and this is what I came up with. We met in the city so I could help her spend her birthday money and spend we did :-).

The base colour for this manicure is a fantastic blue called Silent Disco by NV. I got this in a gift set called Festival Live from TK Maxx a few weeks back. The application was smooth but you would need three thin coats to wear this as a stand alone colour.

I then used my Konad White stamping polish to print this delicate flower design from plate BM 221.

The below swatch picture shows Silent Disco before I stamped over the top of it. This is two coats but it looks a little thin in places so I would recommend three.

Three different shop assistants asked me about my nails today so I guess blue and white really is a striking combination!

Take care

Grey with Pink Flowers

Did I ever tell you that I love grey and pink together? The room dedicated to my nail obsession is decorated in grey and pink and it looks so pretty. I will take pictures soon and put them on here so you can see just how dedicated I am to this desire to collect nail polish :-).

Needless to say that todays manicure is indeed grey, pink and flowery. Pretty!

To create this look I used a brand of nail polish that I have never heard of before... NV. I got 8 gorgeous bottles from this collection just recently and this is my first manicure to include one of the colours. This pretty pale grey is called Puddle and it is such a great colour for me. Full coverage in two coats and dries in super quick time.

I then stamped this floral design using BM 224 and another new to me brand of nail polishes... exposed. This bright magenta pink is called All Nighter. It is quite a thick polish which makes it perfect for dtamping and I will be interested to see how it works as a base colour in the future. It dries very matt so I added top coat to make my nails nice and shiny.

In the sunlight at 7am this morning!
What do you think of grey and pink together. Is this a combo you would wear? If so I would love to see pictures.

Take care
