Lovely Jubbly: My first Butter London

Good evening lovelies!

How has the start to your week been? I have been off today on holiday so I only have a four day working week to get through before its the weekend again already :-). I have been on a really exciting course today which I cannot wait to tell you more about over the next few weeks.

Time for some serious sparkles... This gorgeous polish was a Christmas present from Mr LiPP and the doggies.

Lovely Jubbly is a gorgeous mix of fuschia pink, deep indigo blue, shimmery light red with the added touch of gold glitter particles.

This is quite a densely packed glitter but I decided to layer it over two different base colours to see if it made any difference and also to prevent the need for a third coat of this quite expensive polish.

My index and ring fingers have a base coat of Barry M Navy (as seen above) and my middle and little fingers have a base coat of the simply gorgeous Barry M Gelly Pomegranate (as seen below).

I absolutely love this and it sparkled away all day under the harsh lights in my office :-)

Do you have any of the Butter London polishes? I think I will be adding a few more to my wishlist after seeing the quality of this one.

Orly: A Pair of Teals

Good evening lovelies!

Tonight I am going to show you the gorgeous Orly Go Deeper from the Glam FX collection. It is rare that I wear a polish with no stamping or nail art of any kind but this glitter way was too gorgeous to mess about with. See for yourself...

I took some pictures with my camera flash turned on and some with it turned off. In all honesty this polish looked beautiful no matter what light I captured it in but I thought I would show you both so you can see the depth of colours in Go Deeper.

I started with a base of Orly Le Chateau which is a blackened teal jelly. The application was good and as you can see it really is very blackened and quite hard to see that it has any teal in it at all. If I wanted to wear this as a stand alone colour it would need three thin coats.

Le Chateau is a such a beautiful dark teal base for this awesome green glitter...

I absolutely love this polish. Honestly I could wear this for days at a time and not get bored of looking at it!

One final picture with the flash on...

What do you think of Go Deeper? Stunning isn't it?

Also what do you think of my pictures - are they better with flash on or flash off? Fellow bloggers do you use a flash when taking your nail pictures?

Mirrorball: Hot Stuff

Good evening lovelies

I am finally catching up on swatching some beautiful polishes that I have had for a little while. Tonight I am going to show you another 'frosting' from the Models Own Mirrorball collection. There are 5 gorgeous glitter toppers in this set, I have shown you three so far Disco InfernoBoogie Nights and Dancing Queen so tonight I am showing you Hot Stuff.

This one was my favourite of the collection in the bottle but now its on the nail I am not as sure. What do you think?

As you can see Hot Stuff contains a real mixture of glitters and is quite top heavy on 'large shards' of glitter which look chunky but do sit flat on nail. This polish is a mix of pinks and golds with a slight holo twist.

As with the other shades from this collection I layered Hot stuff over both black and white so you could really see the difference. This one definitely looks best over black in my opinion.

Some of the larger but paler glitters look lost over the white base so the overall effect is quite subtle compared to how it looks layered over black.

Lookin' for some hot stuff baby this evenin'
I need some hot stuff baby tonight
I want some hot stuff baby this evenin'
Gotta have some hot stuff

Overall I am really pleased to have these glitter frostings in my collection - the bottles look beautiful on my shelf :-)

Special Edition Glitter from Barry M

Good evening

I did magic up a little extra time to schedule a post for while I am awaythis weekend. As this goes live I will be in London with the girls having spent the day in Hyde Park at Winter Wonderland. We will then be pulling out the party frocks to go for a nice meal and maybe a cocktail or two ;-)

Happy Birthday Samantha (I am being a lady and not revealing your age!)

This sparkly little number is a limited edition release at Superdrug for Christmas. I just have to own each and every polish that Barry M release so I went and stocked up on a 'back up' Navy and a 'back up' Silver Foil so I could get this little beauty free!

As you can see I layered this multi glitter over my all time favourite grey - Revlon Hazy. Seriously the formula on Hazy is a dream and it dries in a flash.

I love the lids on these special edition polishes. I am actually really sad that I missed out on one more limited edition from Superdrug. Both stores we have in our city have been out of stock since the week before Christmas. Typically it was a green/blue foil polish so I was bound to love it!

I love the combination of these colours: Pink, Green and Blue. You wouldn't necessarily put these colours together in a manicure but this glitter polish really works :-)

I hope you are enjoying your weekends? Have you been very busy or are you enjoying the chance to relax?

Mirrorball - Boogie Nights

I have something lovely and sparkly for you tonight ladies... another of the stunning polishes from the Models Own Mirrorball collection.

This one is called Boogie Nights...

Just look at how it sparkles :-). I never pick purple as a favourite colour but I adore this polish from the Mirrorball collection. Its purple, its lilac, its blue and its pink... its stunning!

Boogie nights
Come on now got to get it started
Dance with the boogie get down

I layered two coats of Boogie Nights over W7 Black and Barry M Matt White so you can see just how amazing this is as the glide on 'nail frosting' Models Own intended.

'Cause boogie nights are always
The best in town
Got to keep on dancing

I love love love this collection. So far I have shown you two of these pretties... I still have three to go :-)

Mirrorball - Dancing Queen

Tonight I have some shiny sparkly loveliness to share with you...

I recently purchased the new Mirrorball collection from Models Own. The colletcion is made up of five gorgeous glitter polishes, each one designed to be worn as 'frosting' for your nails.

I started with Dancing Queen... Fabulous flecks of emerald, blue and gold.

This is one layer of the very pretty Dancing Queen over W7 Black and Barry M Matt White.

These chucky and irregular glitters will make the perfect middle in a jelly nail art sandwich!

Here is a promotional shot of the full collection in all its glory.

I am looking forward to trying out the other four very soon :-)

How do you like this collection?

Glitter Jelly Sandwich with Feathers

This has been on my to do list for ages. I have been lemming after this Konad feather stamping plate for a while but as they are quite expensive I usually try to steer clear and just buy the Bundle Monster plates instead.

For all of those who know me you will not be surprised that I gave in and bought the plate just for this tiny little feather stamp. I love feathers :-)

This gorgeous little mani is made up of many layers so it took a while to create and a while to dry but I dont care because I love it :-)

I started with two thin layers of Barry M Strawberry Icecream. This is a thin jelly like pink polish that has been a favourite of mine recently and I knew it would be good to use for this jelly glitter sandwich.

I thin added one thick coat of Barry M Holographic. This is a really pretty holo hex glitter suspended in quite a thick clear jelly base.

To create the jelly sandwich I then topped this off with one further layer of Barry M Strawberry Icecream, which hid the holo effect and made the glitter look matte silver.

Finally I used Konad White to stamp these adorable feathers at varying angles and voila... one pretty pink feathery creation :-)

I am so in love with this look. I hope you love it too :-)

Pink and Purple glitter explosion

Hi lovelies

I hope you are enjoying your weekends so far? It is my Dads birthday today so we went out for a cooked breakfast this morning and then did a little shopping to help spend his birthday money :-)

I worked on these nails last night and although this was very far from my original nail art plan they did end up being pretty, girly and fun.

I started by applying three thin coats each of these two little cheapy polishes I got in a set fom Primark. Of course the quality is not great but the colours are vibrant and at £2 for 4 polishes you really can't have too many complaints.

Using two glitter polishes from my favourite budget brand BYS, I then layered over the Primark polish to hide any last brush marks and thin patches.

Once the glitter was dry I then used Barry M Silver Foil to stamp the explosion lines from plate BM 301.

I didnt wear this mani for too long as it was a little sickly sweet for my liking, however the glitter was really striking and these nails got lots of compliments :-).

Do you like glittery polishes?
